Maddox Hartle

I actually don't have very many pictures of Maddox on Mom's computer, but I'll put on what I do have.

Maddox Liam Hartle was born January 16th, 2013 at 7:06 pm weighing 8 lbs 6 oz and was 20 inches long. I made it to 39 weeks and 2 days! Longest I had EVER been pregnant. We arrived at the hospital at 8:00 in the morning, and set up in the delivery room. I walked around a lot at first trying to get things moving along since Dr. G broke my water, but around 1 I was still at a 4. So we decided to get the epidural and up the pitocin full blast. Despite it only working on one side, I started to progress. We tried several things to help it take to the other side, but nothing worked. I didn't want the epi guy to take it out and do it again because I was really starting to feel things progress quickly. It was a very miserable and painful last couple of hours, but I went from a 6 to 10 in 30 minutes. By then I had given up hope with the epidural working. After 3 (extremely painful) pushes, Maddox was born. Ryan caught him, and I was given the awesome job of cutting the umbilical cord! So wonderful! Grandma Merkley arrived 30 minutes after he was born. She was taking care of Jace and Kayson, so had to make sure Grandpa could be trusted with them before she came. Thanks Mom and Dad!

Fast forward to today:

Maddox is still breastfeeding! A skill I had lacked on with the other two, but determination won this time and we are experts now. He is the most mellow baby ever! I LOVE him SO much! He just started rolling over last Wednesday and I just love watching him grow and develop. He is my little piece of joy during my hard days.

Welcome to our family Maddox! (p.s. The last picture is from the day he was born)

Pictures!

I thought about writing a long post about what we have been up to, but I'll share the pictures instead. Enjoy!

Our trip to Lagoon with the Hartle family! I didn't get a lot of pictures of Isaac because he was off with the older kids riding the big rides.

4th of July celebrations! I only put on 1/3 of the pictures I took. The last one of Kayson shows what he did when we set off fireworks at Grandma's house. He didn't like those. But he did like the ones at the Vernal park.
