Car Wash

One beautiful day earlier this summer, we decided to wash our car the old fashioned way. By hand.

It.
Was.
FUN!!!!

Perfect weather, water, and kids = many fun memories.

Kayson turned 3

My big boy Kayson turned 3 in May! Here are my 3 favorite things about him:

1: He is potty trained!
2: He loves to go to bed!
3: He is very, VERY independent....not really sure how much I like that one.

Happy Birthday Kayson!

Maddox Hartle

I actually don't have very many pictures of Maddox on Mom's computer, but I'll put on what I do have.

Maddox Liam Hartle was born January 16th, 2013 at 7:06 pm weighing 8 lbs 6 oz and was 20 inches long. I made it to 39 weeks and 2 days! Longest I had EVER been pregnant. We arrived at the hospital at 8:00 in the morning, and set up in the delivery room. I walked around a lot at first trying to get things moving along since Dr. G broke my water, but around 1 I was still at a 4. So we decided to get the epidural and up the pitocin full blast. Despite it only working on one side, I started to progress. We tried several things to help it take to the other side, but nothing worked. I didn't want the epi guy to take it out and do it again because I was really starting to feel things progress quickly. It was a very miserable and painful last couple of hours, but I went from a 6 to 10 in 30 minutes. By then I had given up hope with the epidural working. After 3 (extremely painful) pushes, Maddox was born. Ryan caught him, and I was given the awesome job of cutting the umbilical cord! So wonderful! Grandma Merkley arrived 30 minutes after he was born. She was taking care of Jace and Kayson, so had to make sure Grandpa could be trusted with them before she came. Thanks Mom and Dad!

Fast forward to today:

Maddox is still breastfeeding! A skill I had lacked on with the other two, but determination won this time and we are experts now. He is the most mellow baby ever! I LOVE him SO much! He just started rolling over last Wednesday and I just love watching him grow and develop. He is my little piece of joy during my hard days.

Welcome to our family Maddox! (p.s. The last picture is from the day he was born)

Pictures!

I thought about writing a long post about what we have been up to, but I'll share the pictures instead. Enjoy!

Our trip to Lagoon with the Hartle family! I didn't get a lot of pictures of Isaac because he was off with the older kids riding the big rides.

4th of July celebrations! I only put on 1/3 of the pictures I took. The last one of Kayson shows what he did when we set off fireworks at Grandma's house. He didn't like those. But he did like the ones at the Vernal park.

Aaaaannnnddd another update...

I really hate that I don't have pictures to go with this post. Because baby Maddox is super adorable! I have taken a lot of pictures, so when my sd card, a computer with sd capabilities, time, and cooperation of boys happens, I will be able to post them and write his birth story :) Here are a few details until that happens: Maddox was born January 16th, 2013 at 7:06 pm. He weighed a healthy 8 lbs 6 oz and was 20 inches long. He has been a very mellow, happy baby and we couldn't be happier to have him here and a part of our family. The boys love him and are adjusting very well to having a baby around. Isaac is doing well in school as is Jace. Kayson started potty training this week and has caught on really quick how it all works. We have a #2 issue we're still working on, but he wakes up dry and is loving being a "big boy". Well that's all for now. Hopefully I will get some pictures up next time. Until then :)

Update

See what I mean about "far and few inbetween"??? Seriously I hate that it's been so long since I posted something. All in good time I guess. Not much has happened in our lives lately. Thankfully. We spent Thanksgiving with Ryan's parents and sister's family. Lots of good food and company! December went by very fast, and the last 2 weeks were filled with nothing but sickness in our house. Kayson woke up Sunday morning before Christmas with the stomach bug. Missed church :( We were all feeling well enough on Monday to eat Christmas Eve dinner at my Mom's. Yay! But Ryan and I both woke up Tuesday morning with the stomach bug. Worst Christmas EVER! Then Jace joined our sickie group with the flu and high fever of 106.0 on Friday! Scared the crap out of Ryan and I. Thankfully Ryan and our neighbor Kyle gave Jace a blessing and his fever came down quickly. I will forever be grateful #1 for the power of the priesthood, and #2 that my husband is worthy to use it. Next day Jace had a pink eye, so we took him to an on-call eye doctor (suggested by a good friend and neighbor) who told us he had a very contagious eye infection. Fever blisters behind his eye. So he had to be away from people for a week! *sigh* By now I just got used to being alone with sick boys, and being too miserable to care. My house was a disaster area and my hands are cracked from finger tip to wrist from all the constant washing and disinfecting I had to do to stay on top of the germs. To date we are all finally feeling great! Ryan is getting over a sinus infection (he's on his 3rd antibiotic) Kayson is a few days away from finishing his antibiotic (he got a sinus infection too) I just finished my antibiotic, and life is getting back to normal. And my house is too :) I am 38 weeks, 5 days pregnant and beyond ready to have this baby HERE! I am such a whiner, and my poor husband hears everyday how miserable I feel. Thankfully he loves me and does his best to just listen. The boys are ready to have Mom back to "normal", and I am ready to be exhausted with a new baby rather than be exhausted because my entire body aches and can't move without pain shooting in my hips or belly. See there I go again. Trying to get sympathy like I'm the only woman who's ever felt this way. LOL! I will survive and hopefully post pictures when the baby finally gets here. Pray that it's soon! Until then HAPPY NEW YEAR!
